Parent and Grandparent Super-visa
Overview:
The Parent and Grandparent Super Visa was launched in 2011 by IRCC to facilitate multiple entry and longer term stay for Temporary Resident Visas (TRVs) issued to applicants who require a TRV to visit their child or grandchild who is a citizen or permanent resident of Canada; and facilitate authorized stays of longer duration for those coming from visa-exempt countries. It’s a multi-entry visa that provides multiple entries for a period up to 10 years. Periods of authorized stay for each individual entry is up to 2 years. A super visa is more convenient and applicable than a regular 10-year multiple entry visitor visa which would have a status period for each entry of 6 months only.
